@ Ramyangshu

The aim of this write-up is to explore the significance of this statement -

A is A

What it essentially implies that when one begins the journey of seeking the truth, he finally arrives at this point that truth is absolute and not relative - objective and not subjective.

To go deeper into this, it is necessary we clearly explain what is Absolute and what is Relative; what is Objective and what is Subjective?

Awaiting your response.

"a" is "a"
two interpretations..
1)it is there and it is as it is
2)it is there and it is as i say it is..

let's consider the example of russel's table.
a table is infront of ur eyes. so there exists a table. what's its shape? i say it is rectagular with 4 legs..but, in myview, the table does not appear rectagular..

hope u got the point.
its only when my perception is absolute, then and only then i will be able to say a is a.

a exists without us noticing it, but when we say a is a we dont mean its existance. we want to state its vision infront of our eyes...but does it always appear in the form of a?

awaiting ur response

hmmm....yes....neatly put indeed....

now what I should say is that being an Objectivist is the journey of percieving a as a....it would take a special power, invoked through self effort and concentration and sufficient diligence to improve our perception of "a"...then the next point is, how can one be sure that one's perception is right? (what i am seeing as a is actually a)...for an objectivist this answer will always always come from the depths of his inner self...

does this go in the right direction to answering your query?

we shall discuss other aspects only after one is done with fully.

liked ur comment about objective journey...
yes it would take special power.
to open ur mind to rate ur own action..each word said..
asking why everytime..
it gets to the height of eccentricity sometimes

yes..the only thing that i want to talk is arriving at the conclusion and proving its authenticity.

i feel that trust ur reason till u can find fault or a fault becomes self-evident..
continuous exploration that is

exactly!

now lets explore another aspect -

is a always a? doesn't it ever change? what are your views regarding this?

AbodhBalok said...

well
A is always A

but wen we say tht it is not...

We may know concealed truth..half truth and quarter truth and even false too...
but reason has the power to prove it wrong..
well ratherford was wrong..but he was rational.

heard the story of four blind man describing an elephant?

COOLDEEPTEA said...

yes! the blind men's descriptions of the elephant story rushed to mind at this idea!

but tell me, how would you counter this claim that Nothing is Permanent in this world...That Change is the Law of life...and stuff like that....

when i asked is A always A, i had a time-frame idea in mind....wil it be a better statement that Presently, A is A?

A is A simply means that A exists as A independent of any interpretation about it.Realities dont change with time. Its a declaration that reality exists as absolute, as objective and that subjective reality is a misnomer...a mere production of a foolish mind...
